Also printed in Philadelphia in the same year under title: A treaty, held at the town of Lancaster, in Pennsylvania, by the honourable the lieutenant-governor of the province, and the honourable the commissioners for the provinces of Virginia and Maryland, with the Indians of the Six Nations, in June, 1744 (English short title catalogue, W29577); The council was convened on Friday, June 22, 1744 and lasted until July 4th. Lieutenant Governor George Thomas of Pennsylvania was presiding along with deputies from Maryland and Virgina attending; on the other side were the Senecas, Onandogas, Oneidas, Cayugas, and Tuscaroras. This treaty was held to settle disputes between the colonies of Maryland and Virginia and the Six Nations relative to lands claimed by the Indians in those colonies. The troubles between the Six Nations and the Cherokees and Catawabs are mentioned as well.; Signatures: A⁴ (A1 verso blank) a² B-L⁴ (L4 verso blank); Errors in paging: p. 53-64 incorrectly numbered 45, 42, 41, 46, 53-60 respectively.; Engraved tail piece.
