Description:
At top is shown the method of tying native American prisoners of war and guarding them during the night. At right a warrior prepares a scalp. At bottom is shown the hostile reception given to the prisoners upon reaching the village of their captors. Led by the captors carrying enemy scalps, the prisoners (holding turtle rattles and wands made with swans feathers) are beaten with sticks. Built environment includes dwellings and canoes.
