Description:
In the shop of a shoemaker a European man raises a tool to hit the hand of a black slave who kneels in front of him. Two other slaves work with hammer and thread making shoes or boots. A woman suckling a child looks into the shop from another room. Around the room hang boots, shoes, and lasts. Below the image are pictures of reeds with their flowers.
