notes:
Scientific name: The queen angelfish is Holacanthus ciliaris. Translation, by Georg Leonhard Huth, of: The natural history of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands (volume 2 only). London, 1743. For a companion volume, a translation of the chapter "An account of Carolina, and the Bahama Islands" (also included in volume 2 of The natural history of Carolina ...), see: Die Beschreibung von Carolina, Florida und den Bahamischen Inseln. Nuremberg, 1755. Published in parts from 1750 onwards. The most complete version known consists of [4] preliminary pages, 100 pages of text, 9 page of supplement and [9] pages of index, accompanied by 109 colored plates. A new title page, dated 1777, was issued which is similar to the one of 1750, but differs in the latter part of the statement of responsibility: " ...descripsit vivis coloribus pictas edere coeperunt Nicolaus Fridericus Eisenberger et Georgius Lichtensteger, et ad finem perduxerunt beati Georgii Wolfgangi Knorrii heredes. Norimbergae, typis Pauli Jonathae Felsackeri."
