notes:
The battle of Grenada took place on July 6, 1779, between the British and French navies. Charles-Henri, comte d'Estaing, captured Grenada on July 4, 1779. The English Admiral Byron arrived too late to save the island and after a brief action, surrendered to the French.Issued to commemorate the French military role in the American Revolution, this collection was one of the first few contemporary publications to illustrate scenes from that conflict.
