notes:
Text describes the capture of the Inca, Atabalipa [Atahualpa], by Francisco Pizarro at Cajamarca, Peru. Atahualpa, in a desperate attempt to buy his freedom, offered Pizarro a room of gold. The ransom was in vain; Pizarro had the Inca king garroted as soon as the ransom was collected. The work was supposedly written by a native Peruvian from Cuzco.
