Text describes the hunting methods of the native Americans of present-day Canada or New France. Title is from marginal gloss. Thevet, a Franciscan monk, traveled to Brazil with Nicolas Durand, chevalier de Villegagnon, stayed only ten weeks, and wrote Les singularitez from his own observations and those of others.
