Text explains that the native Americans of the area used this type of hook to catch caymans.Charles Waterton was a taxidermist, naturalist, and explorer descended from Sir Thomas More. He lived in Georgetown, Guyana from 1804 to 1812. On his return to England, he turned his estate, Walton Hall, into the world's first nature reserve. He also invented the bird nesting box.
