Text describes Vespucci and his men landing on the island of present-day Curaçao where they found giant women who invited them into their dwelling. As the Spanish were trying to convince the women to return to their ship, men, even taller than the women, came and forced the Spanish to return to their ship. This image is derived from Theodor de Bry's America, Pt. 10, plate 6. The first part of this book is translated from Benzoni, Historia del mondo nuovo, Venice, 1565 (first two voyages).
