notes:
Text describes the attack of a crocodile on a buccaneer whose companion, a black man, fled. The buccaneer pulled his knives and killed the crocodile as it clamped on his leg. The island where the attack took place is identified as the Islas de los Pinos, the largest of the islands off the coast of Cuba, now called Isla de la Juventad. This work is a collection of four works (commonly identified as being written by Alexander Olivier Exquemelin).
