This work describes the establishment of the first Moravian mission in the Danish West Indies. Oldendorp was in the West Indies from 1767 to 1769. Friedensthal was purchased by the Brethren in 1751 and was the site of the Moravian church on St. Croix. The graveyard is identified in the engraving of Friedensthal from a distance.
