notes:
Text describes the workers as native Americans who use pickaxes to remove ore and who carry the ore up in sacks on their backs. The ore is either gold from Chile or silver from Peru. No Spanish original of Coreal's voyages is known, and the identity of the author has been questioned. This book was later reprinted under titles: Recueil de voyages dans l'Amerique Mériodionale, Amsterdam, 1738, and Relations des voyages de François Coreal, Brussels, 1736.
