Description:
Dutch ships enter the harbor of São Vicente in Brazil. Items in the image are identified in text at bottom where the various actions taking place are also described. Includes native American man and woman, how natives sleep in a hammock, church, burning sugar mill, towns of São Vicente and São Salvador de Bahia de Todos os Santos [Salvador], and ship on fire. Includes dwellings, scene of naval warfare, domestic animals, fortifications, compass rose, and boats.
