This illustrates Johannes Nieuhof, Voyages and travels, into Brasil. The pako katinga is described in the text as being commonly called a wild reed [perhaps tremo micrantha?], and having a fruit not unlike a pineapple. It may also be a sapodilla. The imakarú is described in the text as being called kakabu [kapok tree?] by the native Brazilians and being of great height.
