notes:
Text describes how the Inuit have different houses for the summer and winter and how they are made. Egede, a Danish missionary, described the ancient Norse settlements of Greenland, the plant and animal life, as well as Inuit culture, commerce, language, and religion in this book. Principally because of its description of whaling, it garnered much attention and was translated into many languages.
