View of a town with mountains in the background. This sketch may have been taken from a sketch done by George Bartlett, John Russell Bartlett's brother who was also on the Boundary Commission. On the verso is " Hermosillo 21 Dec 1851," although Bartlett was in Ures, Sonora on December 21, 1851, and didn't arrive in Hermosillo until December 30. Bartlett writes that he made a sketch of Hermosillo on January 1, 1852, at the urging of several young people. This sketch corresponds closely to the lithograph in vol. 1, p. 468, of the Personal Narrative.
