Narrative description:
View of a river valley with mountains or hills marked by sedimentary strata. An embossed seal in the lower right reads: "Arroded [sic] Surface Drawing Board." The landscape resembles that near the junction of Live Oak Creek and the Pecos River, near the ruins of Fort Lancaster in Crockett County, Texas. Bartlett, however, signed this drawing, but was never near this site. The sketch may have been taken from one by Henry Pratt or Augustus de Vadricourt.
