Narrative description:
It is unclear of whom this sketch was made. Mueller thinks it likely that the man might be Padre Encinas, a learned priest attached to the church at Ures who wrote a vocabulary in the Yaqui language. It was common for Henry Cheever Pratt to make sketches of people from whom Bartlett obtained vocabularies and this may be Pratt's sketch of Encinas when he gave Bartlett the Yaqui vocabulary.
