Geographical description:
Map of the North Atlantic Ocean with Europe (from part of Ireland and England, the Low Countries, France, Spain, Portugal and the western Mediterranean) and Africa (from North Africa and West Africa and then to the Equator, including Sao Thomé); also includes the islands in the North Atlantic Ocean (the Azores, the Canary Islands, and Cape Verde); on the left side of the map the continent of North America shows from Labrador and Newfoundland in the north to the Caribbean, the Isthmus of Panama and part of South America from Colombia, Venezuela and the Guianas in the south to the Equator. Depth indicated by soundings. Prime meridian: Cadíz. Engraved mark of the Depósito Hydrográfia in upper left hand corner of map. "Fernando Selma lo grabò" appears at lower right hand corner of map.
