Historical notes:
Full imprint information given at end of title. Work planned and initial steps begun by Tycho Brahe who selected the title of the world map, which included place and date of publication as Nuremberg, 1630. It was, however, issued much later, after 1658 (it is dedicated to Emperor Leopold who ruled from 1658 to 1705). The map was prepared by Philip Eckebrecht, a German merchant, at the request of the noted German astronomer, Johannes Kepler, to illustrate his published astronomical tables.
