This map is a slightly reduced, revised version of Nicolas de Nicolai's, Nouveau monde, first published in Pedro de Medina, L'art de naviguer, Lyons, 1554. The French version of Medina's map was of a higher quality and showed greater detail than its Spanish original.Title taken from dedication.
