[74-79] in Latin.; Page [49], for the date for 1497, mentions Amerigo Vespucci and the discovery of America.; Another edition printed in Cologne by Johan Büssemechers in the same year; this edition has a coat of arms on p. [4] and an engraved map, by Matthias Quad, which depicts the continents of Europe, Asia, and Africa and, most notably, the New World as the northernmost continent situated above the island of Greenland. This edition lacks these elements and probably reveals the Strasbourg copy to be a proof of sorts.; Signatures: A-K⁴ (K4 verso blank) (K3 missigned L3); Title page printed within ornamental woodcut border; head and tail pieces; initials.; Cf.
