notes:
Printed as a foldout to accompany an article on Charleston, this view was copied and adapted from B. Roberts and W.H. Toms "Prospect of Charles-Town," of 1739, although without recording any of the growth that occurred in the town over the intervening years. McSherry Fowble notes that this print was published in the London Magazine or Gentleman's Monthly Intelligencer of June 1762.
