notes:
|
Appointed archbishop of Lima in 1580, Toribio Alfonso Mogrovejo traveled Peru on foot baptizing and confirming the natives, among them Rosa of Lima, Francisco Solano [Solanus], and Martin Porrés. He was canonized in 1726. Mogrovejo left for Peru in September 1580. When he arrived in Lima, he found the church in a spiritual decline and instituted many reforms. This book shows scenes from his life.
