Description: 
Emperor Pedro I places a ring on the finger of his spouse, Amélia of Leuchtenberg. The marriage takes place in a church and is officiated by the bishop of Rio de Janeiro. Members of the clergy, the court, and the royal family fill the church. Includes bishop's crosier, organ, and candles.

His first wife, Leopoldina, had died in 1826.The lithographs in this book were made from drawings made by Debret during his fifteen-year residence (1816-1831) in Brazil.Image placed horizontally on page.
