View of a city square in which slaves conduct various kinds of business. A black woman offers a goat and its kid for sale; a black man on horseback allows two potential buyers to examine the horse; a black man carries heads of garlic on braided straw on a pole; a black man and woman (?) sell onions; a black man carries sausage casings; and a black man carries sausages. Includes dwellings and house for rent.
