[top] Interior of a porte-cochère in a wealthy Brazilian household. A gentleman and a tradesman are being shown into the main house. Two black male slaves braid straw and make a hat while they rest on their owner's carriage. [bottom] Richly dressed [military?] men on horseback form a procession. One man, whose hat is held by another, reads a proclamation.
