notes:
|
Also known as the century plant, a variety of the agave is used today primarily for the production of tequila, but has also been used for food, writing material, medicine, and as rope or to make shoes. Balmis advocated the use of the roots of agave in the therapeutic treatment of veneral disease and scrofula.
