notes:
In this treaty the native Americans promise to cease all acts of hostility against the British in New England and Nova Scotia.Penhallow was born in England and there studied with the Reverend Charles Morton, a dissenter. When Morton emigrated to America, his student followed, arriving in 1686. While still in England, Penhallow was offered a position by the Society for Propagating the Gospel during which time he would be paid to learn the native American language and preach. He did not enter the ministry, however, moving to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and going into trade and judicial activities.
