The French, under command of François Claude Amor, marquis de Bouillé, the French governor of Martinique, attacked Dominica. Bouillé captured Fort Young and renamed it Fort de la Reine on September 7, 1778.Issued to commemorate the French military role in the American Revolution, this collection was one of the first few contemporary publications to illustrate scenes from that conflict.
