Map of the northwest coast of South America at the Equator from the Orinoco River in Venezuela near Trinidad and Tobago to the area south of the Amazon River. North is to the right. Includes lion chasing cattle and lion chasing deer or stag, native American shooting snake with a bow and arrow, trees like palm trees, European ship, native Americans in canoe, hammock, dwellings, and alligator. Cartographic elements include degrees of longitude and latitude, compass rose, scale, names of rivers, settlements, and geographical locations. Also includes location of the Carib tribe.
