Description:
Map of the east coast of Brazil with north to the right. Cartographic elements include scale, compass rose, degrees of latitude and longitude, names of rivers and settlements. Includes fish and ships. Includes insets of bird's-eye view of Espiritu Santo and map of the Baya de todos los Santos in the present-day state of Bahía. Cartouche includes cone of sugar and a native American man holding a paddle and wearing feathered headdress and skirt. Also includes soldiers and pack mules near Pernambuco.
