Text identifies this salamander as being found on the Ile des Jumeaux (Isla de los Gemelos) which may be off the coast of South America. Engraving may be by Pierre-François Giffart (1647-1723). Father Louis Feuillée was a French botanist and member of the Académie Royal des Sciences, who served as scientist and botanist on several French expeditions.
