notes:
|
This work, of which only one volume was published, discusses birds, the cotingas, of northern South America, specifically of the Guianas. Text identifies the bird as not being a bald jackdaw or rook, as Georges-Louis Leclerc, comte de Buffon, alleged. Scientific name: Haematoderus militaris . Been identifies the artist of this image as Jacques Barraband.
