View of a camp site with four tents, figures, about 25 head of horses and mules, and covered wagons. In lower center is " La Punta de Sauz, from Sauz Cienega, 5th camp from the Cobre." In the distance is Granite Peak. The drawing is dated "Sept. 3rd 1852," but this is an error.

Related drawing: JRB046 Personal Narrative derivative: vol. 1, p. 370 Sauez Cienaga is present day San Simon Cienega. This cienega [another name for a marshy area] was an important watering spot.
