Narrative description: 
View of a rocky promontory with two figures standing in a cave. The pencil notations include " Wood;" :Sept. 1, 1851;" "Pallisade Mountain in rear;" "Sugarloaf mountain in distance;" "cedar trees_foliage;" "Prickly pear;" " cedar;" "Sugarloaf Mt.;" and "valley." At the upper left center of the rector is the title in Bartlett's hand: "Rocky cavern near Arispe." This drawing, however, is of Sugar Loaf mountain, present day Steins Peak.
