Narrative description: 
View of the ruins at Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, with four men in foreground. Includes a large yucca plant, in addition to saguaro cacti (which are not native to Chichuahua). Bartlett, in the company of Dr. Webb, but without Henry Cheever Pratt, visited the ruins in August 1852 and made numerous pencil sketches. He is now presumed to be the painted of this watercolor.
