View of a valley. There is no date or signature on this drawing, which carries the title (in pencil), "Valley Leading to Santa Cruz," on the upper left. Bartlett states in his Personal Narrative (vol. 1, p. 401), "I stopped with Mr. Pratt to enjoy the scene, which he hastily transferred to his sketch-book."
