Investment schemes. [The foolish shareholders on the way to Vianen or the pepperland.] A carriage leaves the Muiderpoort in Amsterdam and is headed toward Viana and Kuilenburg [Culemborg]. Fools drive the carriage and satyrs direct the people, one is on a horse. Includes a market scene, a dog, a man offering a coat to a gentleman, a city gate, and a monkey. Pepperland was another name for the East Indies. Vianen was a "free city"� during the Middle Ages and anyone who could pay the toll to enter the city would be granted sanctuary from creditors.
