Map of the Demerara River showing property lines, land use, and shows type of sugar mill used to process cane. Dedication to the directors of the West India Company. "Register der plantagien in Rio Essequibo" in cartouche at lower center. "Register der plantagien aan de oostwal in Rio Demerary" engraved in columns along bottom edge of map. Gives names of plantations and plantation owners. Inset at lower center: [Coast of South America from Cayenne, French Guiana, to the Orinoco River delta, Venezuela]. Ms. label pasted on verso, "[8?]4. La Riviere de Demarari."
