Map has lettered index showng the location of military barracks, officers' quarters, arsenals, and points of interest such as churches; at lower left hand corner there is the projected site for a canal. Bar scale given in English miles. Place names on map given in English and Spanish. Oriented with north to the right.

Atlas consists of 24 maps and 4 views of the South American campaign of the British invasions of Rio de la Plata, part of the Napoleonic Wars, 1800-1815. The campaign lasted from 1806 to 1807, during which time General Beresford attacked Buenos Aires, Argentina, Montevideo, Maldonado, and Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, and Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco, Brazil, all without authorization from the British crown.

The campaign lasted from 1806 to 1807, during which time General Beresford attacked Buenos Aires, Argentina, Montevideo, Maldonado, and Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, and Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco, Brazil, all without authorization from the British crown.
