Historical notes:
This map shows the important trade corridor between New York and Montreal, specifically detailing from Delaware Bay northward and was produced as the result of a legal battle over the boundaries of New York and New Jersey's western border. The Board of Trade in London had commissioned Samuel Holland to create a map of the disputed region. The compromise between the two colonies was finally agreed on in 1768, the year this map was probably published by Thomas Jeffreys.
