Map of Barbados in two sheets. This part contains the upper portion of the map. Cartographic elements include scales, compass rose, shoals or sea banks, some topographical details, location of roads, plantations, windmills, and churches. Includes inset plan of the town of Bridgetown with items lettered for indentification in key at left, vignette of a surveyor who is assisted by Black people in a pastoral scene with windmills, dwellings, and surveying instruments such as measuring wheel, transit, and chains. Also includes decorative cartouche with dolphins or fish, allegorical figures, and musical instruments.
