Geographical description:
Chart of the mouth of the Orinoco River. Cartographic elements include soundings, location of rivers and delta islands, lines of latitude and longitude, and compass rose. Decorative elements include sea monsters or fish, ships, and boats. Decorative cartouche includes armadillo, native American family with baskets, bow, and arrows. The native Americans are described as being Ewiapanomi.

Dudley's sea atlas was the first sea atlas to cover the entire world, to be based on Mercator's projection, and to be made by an Englishman, albeit one working in Italy.The engraver wrote in the introduction to this work that the engraving of the volumes took twelve years and used five thousand pounds of copper.Sir Walter Raleigh wrote in 1596 of the "Ewaipanoma," in the Guianas, a headless tribe who have their faces on their chest.
