Description:
View of the siege of Quebec City showing the English troops debarking from ships onto boats. Built environment includes churches, dwellings, and fortifications. Scene of battle on the Plains of Abraham.
notes:
Wolfe first attempted to attack the French at Quebec from the front and was rebuffed. Hearing of a narrow path which led up to the Plains of Abraham above the town, he led his troops up at night. The brief battle which ensued cost both generals their lives and the French their foothold in North America.
