Description:
Map of New England from Penobscot Bay in present-day Maine to Narragansett Bay in present-day Rhode Island. Also includes Lake Champlain (here named Lake Iroquois), Cape Cod (here named Nieuw Hollant or New Holland), and names of various native American tribes. Cartographic elements include degrees of latitude and longitude, scales, compass rose, location of various islands, and some topographical details. Decorative cartouche includes scene of Europeans leaving New England with cargoes of logs [sassafras?] and skins or furs. Also includes casks or barrels, mermaid, and ships.
