notes:
On September 12, part of Wolfe's fleet bombarded the town of Beauport diverting some of the French. On September 13 the British landed at Anse au Folon at the base of the cliff of Quebec City. French sentinels, tricked by French-speaking British soldiers, were overcome by advancing light infantry. Montcalm, the French general, left the well-defended town and engaged the British on the Plains of Abraham, outside of the city.
