Geographical description:
Map of southern New England from Casco Bay in present-day Maine to Long Island. Cartographic elements include lines of latitude and longitude, location of rivers, native American tribes, settlements, and sea banks or shoals (with soundings), and compass rose. Decorative elements include animals such as turkey, beavers, bears, birds, rabbits, deer or stag, sea monster, scene of warfare with native Americans, ship, royal coat of arms of England, coat of arms of Thomson [?] family (the map is dedicated to Robert Thomson), native American village showing fortifications and dwellings. Decorative cartouche is flanked by two native Americans, one of whom carries a bow.
